About Om

Born in New Delhi, India, Om immigrated to the United States with his family over two decades ago. He grew up in a middle-class family with a humble upbringing. An entrepreneur at heart, Om founded PNB Bearings India Ltd., a manufacturing plant with Japanese collaboration, after finishing his Master's Degree in Economics and Business Administration.

Om and his family’s fighting spirit allowed them to successfully build their life in a new country. He moved to the US with his wife, three children, and aging parents. His professional career in the US started with AIG and ING insurance companies, yet, in 2001 his entrepreneurial journey would have him starting his own hospitality and property development organization. In 2004, he developed and opened his first and second hotels. At the same time, he was also involved in the development of a small residential community around Sugarloaf and Meadow Church Road in Duluth, GA .

This experience empowered Om to stay engaged in the local community as well as get engaged with state and local government. Yet, the financial crisis of 2008 took a toll on his businesses, and he moved his family from Augusta (Evans), GA to the City of Johns Creek, eventually moving to Duluth, GA in Gwinnett County. The move to metro Atlanta has been fruitful for his family as he has been able to reestablish his businesses, his children have expanded their educational endeavors, and and he has been able to get care for his 98-year young father. In honor of his father, Om is working on a non-profit focused on senior living.

Om's passion for higher education has inspired his children to work diligently towards enhancing their own educational endeavors; his eldest daughter has obtained her doctorate in pharmacy and younger daughter has a master's degree in psychology and is working on her doctorate. In addition, his son has attended Augusta and Gwinnett Technical Colleges and has obtained a degree in hotel management which has allowed him to combine his entrepreneurial journey with his father.

Due to his lived experiences, Om is committed to supporting affordable housing, Medicaid expansion, assisting entrepreneurs and small businesses, as well as looking out for the best interests of immigrant and minority families.

Currently, Om is engaged in the following Gwinnett County organizations:
• Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, Board Member
• Gwinnett Airport Authority, Board Member, District 1 Appointee
• Sugarloaf Community Improvement District (CID), Board Member
• Georgia Gwinnett College School of Business Board of Visitors, Member

He is a registered Democrat and has actively supported the Gwinnett County Democratic Party as well as current elected officials. He is looking forward to serving as your Representative for Georgia State House District 99.
